Creative is clearing out a mess of refurbished gear, including 1GB Zen Stone MP3 player for $13.99, 2GB Zen Stone Plus players for $21.99, and my personal favorite: the 4GB Zen for $64.99. All prices include shipping!
In case you're unfamiliar with it, the Zen is Creative's answer to the 3rd-gen iPod nano. It offers a 2.5-inch screen, an SDHC slot (for adding up to 16GB of extra storage via cheap memory cards), a voice recorder, and support for music-subscription services from Amazon Unbox. In short, it's way more versatile than the nano, which os why CNET and users alike gave it such a high rating.
If you sounds like a winning deal to you, don't wait: I'm certain these will sell out in a hurry. If they do, or you've got an extra $19 to spare, you can get yhe 8GB model for $83.99.
Panasonic has announced the introduction of two new SD High Capacity memory cards, said to be perfect for recording in high definition. The cards, which come in 6GB and 12GB storage capacities are capable of recording 90 minutes and 180 minutes of 1920 x 1080 full HD content respectively. These times can be increased depending on the HD mode chosen. Panasonic says the cards have been produced in response to the growing SD card-based HD camcorders on the market, however the cards can obviously also be used for standard definition recording. Named, rather catchily, the RP-SDM06G (6GB) and the RP-SDM12G (12GB) SDHC Memory Cards, they incorporate a number of user-friendly features such as memo-labels so you can write on the front of the card. As for making sure whatever is on your card is safe, the Panasonic SDHC memory cards are designed against bending and twisting, plus can function even in extreme temperatures. In fact, they are reliable at temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C. No price details as yet, we'll get them to you when we hear anything.
